Kennedy & Partners Recruitment is working with an established and growing SME business in Dublin to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, hands-on accounts professional who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and working closely with management in a busy, varied environment.

The successful candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organisational skills and a practical, flexible approach. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and getting involved wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare accounts up to trial balance.

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control.

  • Prepare VAT returns, bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Support payroll processing and related administration.

  • Manage month-end reporting and preparation of financial information.

  • Liaise with external accountants and relevant third parties.

  • Support general office administration and wider business activities as required.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Senior Bookkeeper, Accounts Manager or similar role.

  • Strong all-round bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an SME environment.

  • Confident preparing accounts up to trial balance.

  • Good working knowledge of VAT, payroll, credit control and reconciliations.

  • Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.

  • Highly organised, accurate and capable of managing your own workload.

  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to take on varied responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with business owners and management.

An accounting or bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical experience is equally valued.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary DOE

  • A varied, hands-on role with real responsibility and autonomy.

  • Opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day accounts function.

  • An established business offering a stable, supportive working environment.
