Our client, a well-established business operating across a multi-entity environment, is seeking to appoint a Group Accountant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working across a broad group structure and wants exposure to consolidated reporting, month-end close, statutory accounting and business partnering across multiple entities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting group finance activities, ensuring accurate reporting and maintaining strong financial control across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple entities within the group
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated management accounts and group reporting packs
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes across the group
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and control accounts
  • Assist with statutory financial statement preparation and year-end audit processes
  • Ensure accurate reporting of accruals, prepayments, journals and fixed assets
  • Monitor intercompany balances and support the resolution of reconciling items
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across the group
  • Support cashflow reporting and wider financial analysis where required
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors and external accountants across multiple entities
  • Support VAT, Corporation Tax and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Help drive consistency, controls and process improvements across the finance function
  • Work closely with senior finance stakeholders and entity-level teams across the group

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with strong financial reporting experience
  • Previous experience in a Group Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or group environment
  • Strong understanding of month-end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting would be a strong advantage
  • Strong systems and Excel skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders
