  • Budgeting, forecasting and detailed variance analysis
  • Stock, inventory and work-in-progress accounting
  • Product and operational costing, including analysis of material and labour variances
  • Balance sheet management and oversight of key financial controls
  • Partnering with operational teams to understand cost drivers, margins and overall business performance
  • Analysis and reporting of key operational and financial KPIs
  • Oversight and support across AP, AR and transactional finance
  • Cash flow, treasury and multi-currency activities
  • VAT and other statutory and compliance reporting
  • Identifying and implementing improvements across financial controls, processes and management information
  • Providing commercial analysis and financial insight to support business decision-making
  • Working directly with the CFO on wider finance initiatives and ad-hoc projects

The Person

We are interested in speaking with qualified accountants operating at Management Accountant, Senior Management Accountant or Finance Manager level who have gained experience within a hands-on commercial finance environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, distribution or another stock/inventory-led business
  • Strong management accounting, financial reporting and month-end experience
  • Practical knowledge of stock, inventory, WIP and/or product costing
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand the operational drivers behind the numbers
  • The confidence to work closely with senior management and challenge and support operational stakeholders
